Photo Upload Terms & Release

By uploading a photo to Little Chapters, you understand and agree that:

• The photo will be used solely for creating a personalized storybook character
• The photo serves as a creative reference for AI-generated illustrations
• No direct reproduction or exact copy of the photo will be created
• The resulting character will be fictional and stylized

You retain full ownership of any photos you upload. By uploading, you grant Little Chapters a limited, non-exclusive license to:

• Use the photo for character generation purposes only
• Process the photo through our AI systems
• Create derivative works (stylized characters) inspired by the photo
• Use the photo solely for your purchased product

This license terminates upon completion of your order or at your request.

You understand and agree that:

• All generated characters are fictional and stylized representations
• No direct likeness or exact reproduction of the uploaded photo will be created
• The AI-generated character is inspired by, but not a copy of, the uploaded photo
• You will not claim the generated character as a direct representation of the photographed individual

We are committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of children:

• Photos are encrypted during transmission and processing
• Photos are not stored permanently and are deleted after character generation
• Photos are never shared with third parties without explicit consent
• We comply with COPPA and other applicable privacy laws
• You may request deletion of your photos at any time

We will never use your uploaded photos for marketing or promotional purposes without your explicit written consent.

If you choose to opt-in to marketing use:

• Only the AI-generated character (not the original photo) may be used
• Use is limited to Little Chapters marketing materials and social media
• You may withdraw this consent at any time
• Withdrawal of consent will not affect your ability to use our service

You agree not to upload photos that:

• Include individuals for whom you do not have legal consent
• Are group or multi-person photos (we can only create stories for one child per book)
• Are copyrighted, watermarked, or owned by third parties
• Contain inappropriate, explicit, or offensive content
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

We reserve the right to reject or request replacement of photos that do not meet our standards.

By uploading a photo, you confirm that:

• You are the parent or legal guardian of the child, OR
• You have received explicit permission from the parent or guardian
• You have the legal right to grant these permissions
• You understand the terms of this agreement

You may revoke your consent at any time by contacting us. Upon revocation, we will cease using your photos and delete them from our systems.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Little Chapters shall not be liable for:

• Any unauthorized use of uploaded photos by third parties
• Any claims arising from the use of generated characters
• Any technical issues that may affect photo processing
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service.

This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Little Chapters operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
